Hello, Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break :) I cannot believe how fast the year has gone. I could not believe how tall and grown up the children looked after the holidays! This weeks blog is about our new phonics scheme. As lots of you know, we have been using ELS this year. This scheme was chosen last year before Mrs Simpson and I joined the school, and after giving it a good go, we looked at other options. So this term we are officially starting Little Wandle, which seems more enjoyable for the children. The sounds and progression is similar but we will be spending this term closing any gaps in our learning and beginning to blend it our head, spot the digraphs and trigraphs before we start reading and using our phonics within our writing. I am going to link some documents which you can read about Little Wandle, and there are some sheets that tell you how to say some of the trickier sounds.
